However, if you decide to venture down to the beach itself, exercise caution. The descent is steep and challenging, with uneven steps and slippery paths that have led to injuries for some tourists. Once you reach the beach, be aware of the strong currents that can make swimming dangerous. To fully appreciate Kelingking Beach and avoid the crowds, plan to arrive early in the morning. This way, you can enjoy the breathtaking views and the serenity of this incredible location before it becomes too crowded.

4. Diamond Beach: located on the eastern tip of Nusa Penida, Diamond Beach is a true gem waiting to be discovered. Note: for your trip to Nusa Penida we will recommend to explore it with a private driver or with a guided tour. In our opinion the private driver is the best since you can decide the spots you want to visit, but also the guided tour that we put here has a good amount of the must-sees.

Our opinion of Nusa Penida:

The highlight of our days in Nusa Penida by far was snorkeling at various spots around the island. The most beautiful area is between Sentral Point and Sampalan Point, where the coral is vibrant and teeming with life. This underwater paradise boasts a stunning variety of fish, and if you are lucky, you might even spot some turtles. Many snorkeling tours include this spot in their itinerary due to its rich marine biodiversity.

Manta Point is another renowned snorkeling location, famous for its majestic manta rays. Unfortunately, we weren’t lucky enough to see any during our visit. It’s important to remember that manta rays are seasonal, so sightings can vary depending on the time of year you visit.

As for the rest of the island, expect crowds at the famous spots like Kelingking Beach, Angel’s Billabong, Broken Beach, Atuh Beach, Diamond Beach, and the Tree House. To fully appreciate these stunning locations and enjoy a more peaceful experience, we highly recommend arriving early in the morning.
